Byron Donalds accuses Ron DeSantis of ‘lashing out’ at him over backing Donald Trump in 2024

The Naples Republican also addressed Casey DeSantis' potential run.

As he runs for Governor, U.S. Rep. Byron Donalds is responding to the current Governor’s comments about him not being part of conservative wins in Florida.

“He’s still mad at me that I endorsed Donald Trump. And so that’s his way of, you know, kind of lashing out, trying to lash out at me,” Donalds said about Gov. Ron DeSantis on the Full Send Podcast.

An interviewer asked the Naples Republican about DeSantis’ comments in February that Donalds “just hasn’t been a part of any of the victories that we’ve had here over the Left over these last years” because he’s “been in other states campaigning.”

Donalds said that in the last four years of DeSantis’ tenure, Donalds was doing his “job in Congress … standing up to Joe Biden and Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer” and doing “everything (he) could to help elect Donald Trump.”

“The Governor is entitled to his position and his opinion, but I don’t really think it’s factual. I think that’s more political,” Donalds said.

The Congressman did acknowledge that in a potential race against Casey DeSantis, the Governor would have to back his spouse.

“I mean, it’s your wife, you know? It is what it is. But first, we’ll see what they do,” Donalds said.

Donalds previously said his relationship with DeSantis was frayed over the Trump endorsement.

Indications are that Casey DeSantis will make a decision soon.

The Governor has said previously that people should stay tuned until the end of the Legislative Session next month. He also said there’s a “chance” she runs on a podcast interview.

Ron DeSantis did, however, not answer a question directly about whether he wanted Casey DeSantis to run.

The DeSantises are reportedly trying to get Trump to hedge his endorsement of Donalds. But thus far, it hasn’t happened.

Unqualified and self entitled Casey will never, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever be Governor of anything. She belongs in prison for defrauding Floridians of $10 million dollars.

Naples Publicity hound has a problem with our Governor. Cry baby, aren’t you getting enough “face time”? People of character, those who put Country ahead ambition – so Byron step aside!
