Entrepreneur and real estate broker Judy Mollica just filed to run for Seat 2 on the Delray Beach City Commission.

So far, she’s the only candidate running for the open seat, which Commissioner Rob Long is vacating for a House run.

Mollica hopes to leverage her community involvements and 25 years of real estate experience into a win next year.

If elected, she vows to partner with residents, businesses and local leaders on thoughtful solutions to the issues Delray Beach faces.

That includes supporting responsible growth, housing affordability, government transparency, economic stability and “preserving the city’s unique charm,” her campaign said.

“Delray Beach is a vibrant and diverse community that I am proud to call home,” Mollica said in a statement.

“I am committed to working collaboratively with residents, businesses, and fellow commissioners to ensure our city continues to thrive while preserving the qualities that make it special.”

The founder and owner of boutique real estate firm Ocean East Properties, Mollica is an appointed member of the Delray Beach Planning and Zoning Board.

She also serves as President of Friends of Delray, a civic organization dedicated to fostering community engagement and preserving the city’s character, and sits on the boards of the Old School Square Center for the Arts, Rotary Club of Delray Beach and Mae Volen Senior Center.

Mollica plans to center her campaign on fostering open dialogue with constituents, supporting local businesses and advocating for policies that enhance residents’ lives.

Seats 2 and 4 on the City Commission are up for grabs in Delray Beach’s 2026 election.

Vice Mayor Angela Burns is running to keep Seat 4. Mayor Tom Carney, meanwhile, is running to keep his Seat 5 spot on the five-member dais in 2027.

Like Mollica, both are unopposed so far.

City Commission members, including the Mayor, serve three-year terms.

Mollica is registered as a Democrat. She switched from being a Republican in 2016, state records show.

Delray Beach elections are technically nonpartisan, but partisan politics nevertheless impact their outcomes.
