Universal is also hosting a new special ticketed after-hours event at its water park. Universal Volcano Bay Nights will launch in April and May, a time when the Summer temperatures are regularly felt in Central Florida. The food festival and concert series includes a special Mardi Gras parade and plenty of in-park entertainment.

The three candidates running to succeed Ed Narain in the Tampa-based Florida House District 61 seat debated at the Tampa Tiger Bay Club on Friday. While the discourse was amiable, the emphasis on what is needed to improve the economic conditions in East Tampa were expressed with urgency. Former Tampa Mayor Dick Greco, a registered Democrat who hasn’t made a habit out of endorsing other Democrats of late, did so Thursday by announcing his support for civil justice lawyer Augie Ribeiro in the Senate District 19 race. “I know Augie Ribeiro well. I know his family, I know his values, and I know his heart,” said Greco in a […]

Well, so much for the free flow of ideas inside the Florida Democratic Party. Patrick Murphy announced yesterday he would not engage in any debates with Alan Grayson or Pam Keith in advance of the Aug. 30 Senate primary election, citing allegations of domestic abuse charged by Grayson’s ex-wife last week. “Over the last week, I have heard from many […]

(Updated) The National Rifle Association Political Victory Fund has sent out a mailer urging voters to support Darryl Rouson in the Florida Senate District 19 Democratic primary election later this month. The powerful gun lobbying group gives the St. Petersburg House Democrat a “C” grade in the primary election. That’s obviously better than the “F” grades it gives […]

Ever since Augie Ribeiro entered the state Senate District 19 race in late June, Ed Narain has seemed to be personally offended by his campaign theme that he’s a Democrat “for all of us.” “Is he implying that the people that have held the seat before didn’t represent everybody in the district?” Narain asked on Monday night while attending the Greater […]

One of the great ironies of the 2016 Republican presidential race is how the cult of personality surrounding their nominee is probably the deciding factor in why Donald Trump is their candidate for president. In 2008 and ever since, conservatives decried a similar cult that was built around Barack Obama. Remember the John McCain campaign calling him (in a way […]

Although many polls show the presidential election could go either way, the Democratic candidates in Florida’s Senate District 19 and House District 70 at Friday’s Suncoast Tiger Bay Club meeting say they can’t fathom an America with Donald Trump leading the nation. “There are 45 million Republicans in this country, and that’s the best they […]
