Jacksonville Mayor Lenny Curry appointed the city’s first African American spokeswoman, in the form of the tireless Marsha Oliver. From the easy requests to the tough questions, Oliver handles them with promptness and aplomb, and as she settles into her role, she is moving into a leadership position herself.

One example of such: her invitation from Deutsche Bank to participate in its Diversity Week later this month.

Oliver’s specific role: participating in a panel discussion held by Deutsche Bank’s Women On Wall Street (WOWS) and MultiCultural Partnership (MCP) employee resource groups, where a recent Center for Talent Innovation study, Black Women Ready to Lead, will be reviewed “through a series of thought provoking questions and dialogue…to raise awareness, create a culture of inclusion and remind us that there is a need for diversity every day,” in the words of the invite.

The session will be held the morning of November 17 at the Deutsche Bank Southside campus, from 11-noon.
