On Friday evening, as the world watches the horror that has been wrought in Paris, Jacksonville Mayor Lenny Curry and Sheriff Mike Williams issued a joint message.

The two men “have been in communications about the Paris tragedies and the investigative efforts being led by federal officials.”

“Based on available information, there are currently no related threats or risks for the City of Jacksonville. Nevertheless, City and law enforcement officials will maintain and monitor security levels while praying for the protection, peace and healing for Parisian families and visitors,” the message closes.

On his own Twitter, meanwhile, Curry issued a sobering message.

“Pray for Paris now.”
