Democratic congressional candidate Susannah Randolph has picked up the endorsement of the United Food and Commercial Workers (WFCW) for her primary run in Orlando-based Congressional District 9.

The UFCW represents 1.3 million grocery store, retail, food and drug store employees nationwide.

“From leading the fight to defeat wage theft, to standing up for fair pay and bargaining rights, Susannah has been a consistent advocate for America’s working families, UFCW President Ed Chambers stated in a news release issued Tuesday by Randolph’s campaign.

Randolph is in a Democratic primary race with state Sen. Darren Soto of Orlando, businesswoman Valleri Crabtree of Kissimmee, biomedical researcher Dr. Dena Minning of Orlando and former state Rep. Ricardo Rangel. They all seek to run in November to succeed Democratic incumbent U.S. Rep. Alan Grayson in the strongly Democratic district that covers much of south central Orange County, all of Osceola County and part of Polk County.

Randolph said she was proud of UFCW’s support.

“This is an organization that has worked to strengthen workers’ rights, build a better future for its members and improve life for hardworking Americans,” she stated in the release.
