There’s a new candidate in the Congressional District 4 race: Republican David Foxx, who filed in CD 6 before realizing redistricting placed his residence in CD 4.

The Daytona Beach News-Journal reported Wednesday that the St. Augustine business consultant was “unaware” he was not in CD 6.

“I should seek representing the people in the district where I live when I serve,” Foxx wrote to the News-Journal. “So breaking news for you first, I will be switching my candidacy from the 6th district to the 4th district.”

Foxx joins a crowded CD 4 field, including St. Johns County Commissioner Bill McClure, Jacksonville’s Rep. Lake Ray, perennial candidate Deborah Katz Pueschel, and former Jacksonville Sheriff John Rutherford.
