A month after filing papers to run in Florida’s 6th Congressional District, Ric Keller says he has decided not to pursue the seat.
“I enjoyed serving the people of Central Florida in Congress for eight years,” said Keller in a release. “However, remaining in the private sector is the most positive option for our family at this time in terms of financial security and time commitments. Accordingly, I will not seek to place my name on the ballot as a candidate for Congress in Florida’s Sixth District.”
The seat is open as a result of Ron DeSantis leaving to run for the U.S. Senate.
“I am optimistic that our party will be able to retain this congressional seat, and am confident that our remaining field of candidates is strong. I look forward to supporting the eventual Republican nominee,” said Keller.
