U.S. Rep. John Mica is under fire from the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee, which blasted him for supporting the “#PartyofTrump” in a Thursday email.
“Last night, John Mica not only voted in favor of targeting LGBT Americans and allowing our military officers to be trained under the Confederate flag, he and his reckless Republican colleagues pushed their joint Trump-House Republican divisiveness into the debate about a critical defense measure,” Jermaine House of the DCCC said in the email.
The House vote on an anti-LGBT amendment included in this year’s National Defense Authorization Act and a bill that would limit — but not ban — displaying the Confederate Battle Flag in Veterans Affairs cemeteries, were just a couple of the things the DCCC are throwing at Mica, whose newly competitive district is being eyed by Democrats this cycle.
The DCCC email attempted to tie those votes to the latest headlines on Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump, including his campaign’s selection of William Johnson as a delegate, to Mica and his Republican colleagues in the House.
“With Donald Trump recently selecting a White Nationalist leader to serve as one of his delegates not long after he failed to adequately denounce an endorsement from David Duke, and John Mica and House Republicans voting to allow the Confederate Battle flag to continue flying at taxpayer-funded military cemeteries, it’s clear that the GOP is truly the #PartyofTrump,” the email said.

In other news, Washington Democrats continue to waste time and resources in a failed attempt to con a Democrat into thinking he has a chance against Mica. Stories like this is why people hate politics. Why don’t you guys talk about all the good stuff Mica does. Don’t just take my word for it, ask Buddy Dyer or any other Orlando Democrat.
