Rep. Corrine Brown might want to have a conversation with her webmaster, after her 2016 campaign website was hacked this week by Australian SEO engineers.
What appears to be an unscrupulous SEO firm has hacked Brown’s website, adding promotional copy and links, thus drawing on its authority and traffic to bring link juice to clients who seem to have no interest in electoral politics in Northeast Florida.
This passage links to an Australian real estate concern: “When it comes to wyndham vale real estate , it’s always best to go with a name and developer you can trust. This way, you get an assurance that the property you’re buying comes from a company that many others before you have trusted.”
And this, too, links to more Australian real estate: “Choose the right partner if you are planning to buy, sell or rent a property in Sydney. A chatswood real estate agent will guide you through the process of getting the sale or finding the right property for sale or rent in the area.”
Not interested in Australian real estate? No worries, mate.
Brown’s also got the hookup for artificial Christmas trees in the United Kingdom: “It is that time of the year again. You are about to start decorating your home for the holiday season. An artificial Christmas tree that looks natural and fabulous can bring the festive spirit to your home. Visit popular online stores to find the best styles and designs available today.”
Emails to the Brown campaign got no response. The phone number listed on the site, meanwhile, has been disconnected.
Beyond those issues listed above, Brown still links from her homepage to her Jacksonville Quick Picks from 2015. Those went about as well as her webmaster’s performance.
