Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer is staying away from making endorsements in Democratic-contested races but will be one of the special guests Wednesday night for a fundraiser for Susannah Randolph, who’s in the Aug. 30 Democratic primary for Florida’s 9th Congressional District.
Dyer is one of dozens of Central Florida Democrats, and a handful of non-Democrats, highlighted as guests for Randolph’s $100-per-person fundraiser at Orlando’s Quantum Leap Winery Wednesday evening. The price for a host is $1,000.
Among others are several key figures who’ve endorsed Randolph, including Democratic fundraiser John Morgan, Osceola County Chairwoman Viviana Janer, former Orange County Mayor Linda Chapin, and Orange County Comptroller Martha Haynie, as well as a few others who have not picked sides, such as Orange County Property Appraiser Rick Singh.
Randolph is running against state Sen. Darren Soto, Dena Grayson and Valleri Crabtree, seeking a shot at replacing Democratic incumbent U.S. Rep. Alan Grayson, Dena Grayson’s husband, in representing CD 9.
Republicans running are Wayne Liebnitzky and Kissimmee City Commissioner Wanda Rentas.
