Governor-elect Ron DeSantis and Incoming First Lady Casey DeSantis helped spread a little Thanksgiving cheer Wednesday with a visit to Trinity Rescue Mission.

The DeSantises spent the morning helping prepare Thanksgiving meals for the community before switching over to help serve lunch and read a Thanksgiving story to the children at mission’s Women and Children’s Center.

The Center is only faith-based residential recovery program in Jacksonville, offering long-term, comprehensive service to women and children.

Trinity Rescue Mission provides emergency services and other long-term recovery programs to the hungry and homeless populations in the greater Jacksonville area.

On its website, the Christian mission says it is “dedicated to loving, serving and helping those in need through the grace of Jesus Christ.

“God’s calling to us is to dream big as the gap widens between basic human needs and public resources. We strive to be a valuable community partner dedicated to helping transform lives and ending hunger and homelessness in Jacksonville and beyond in the name of Jesus Christ.”
