Donald Trump steals Ron DeSantis’ balls giveaway
Is Ron DeSantis poised to upstage Donald Trump?

FLAPOL092121CH021
Promotional gimmicks continue to overlap.

The ongoing trend of the campaign messaging arms of Donald Trump and Ron DeSantis ripping each other off continued Sunday.

The Trump team offered a golf ball giveaway Sunday. Promoting the “brand new Trump golf balls” was not by the 45th President of the United States, but by his namesake son.

“MY FATHER JUST RELEASED OFFICIAL TRUMP-EDITION GOLF BALLS,” enthused Donald Trump, Jr.

“This one-of-a-kind, collectors’ item is already FLYING off our shelves. However, President Trump and I want to make sure they go to someone who is a TRUE Trump patriot, like YOU,” Trump urged. “We have NEVER released Trump-edition Golf balls, and we may never do it again. Once they’re sold out, they’re gone for GOOD.”

The email contends that the former President was involved with the golf ball design itself.

Grab them while they’re hot.

DeSantis debuted his golf balls last fall, in a box emblazoned with the slogan “Florida’s Governor has a pair.” That meant, of course, there were two golf balls in each box.

Those balls dropped as the Legislature made a decisive drive toward passing legislation DeSantis called for to fortify Florida against federal vaccine mandates.

“Standing firm and setting an example for the rest of the nation in defending freedom as it comes under assault has become par for the course with Gov. DeSantis,” read an email promoting the items on his campaign merchandise store.

Trump may have intercepted DeSantis’ ball promotion, but the intellectual purloining cuts both ways, as DeSantis was guilty previously of jacking a Trump trademark.

DeSantis’ campaign promoted in late April a Freedom Team Membership Card featuring a picture of the Governor in RayBan Aviator sunglasses, gracing a message that reads “Florida First Fighter.”

The Trump Political Action Committee essentially pioneered the gold card gimmick weeks earlier. An April 5 email from the group painted a picture of a deliberative former President mulling design options for his 2022 Gold Card. That set up a series of emails promoting the impending card.

Though the DeSantis campaign may have been inspired by Trump’s Gold Card, the  graphic design work leans more toward AmEx than Ex-Prez, bearing a striking resemblance to the original card designed by mid-1960s marketing wizards.

Trump steals DeSantis’s balls? Who can resist commenting on a headline like that? Of course, as everyone knows, bullies have no balls.. they only pretend to, to make up for a lack of common decency or humanity. Both Don and Ron have no qualms about bullying, women, LGBTQ, minorities, high school kids, the disabled, collage professors, teachers and anyone who isn’t afraid of them. They can hock golf balls all day long- doesn’t make up for the fact neither has any. Maybe they should try teaching a class- now that takes balls today.

I’ve lived in Tampa FL all my life. Ron desantis is the most immoral governor Florida has ever had. He is everything wrong with politics in the US.
He has killed thousands of Floridans. He has done nothing to address the skilled nursing home crisis in Florida that republicans caused.

Ron Deathsantis has done nothing for Florida but bring it from 1963 to 1964. Big deal as it’s 2022 and he’s not even up to date. Florida is a state way behind the times. Deathsantis only cares for the over 65 white vote. No one gay, no one of color, no LGBTQ, no atheists,no disabled…the list goes on.
We are voters, we are watching and will vote no matter how hard it is going to be to vote we will succeed. Vote Democratic

They are both egotistical, lying, conniving, fascist bullies. These two have destroyed the GOP as far as I’m concerned

At least they are realistic and are representing themselves with some of the smallest balls out there. Personally, I think they could have even gone smaller and used marbles,

It’s a race to the bottom. They are booth bullies that love to hate each other. They hopefully will cancel each other out. I am not a Republican, but I believe we need a strong two party system that will fight for the integrity of each party. Someone needs to have the guts to stand up to Trump and DeSantis. Neither is good for their party.

Trump is just paying back CopyCat DeSantis for the endless ripping off of Trump and every other republican. Nothing original. No personality. Gutless.

And put a hole in one and a dent in the other.
