Ron DeSantis says his Defense Secretary will have to ‘slit some throats’

'It's a lot harder to do that if these are people that you've trained with in the past.'

During an interview with Real America’s Voice, Florida’s Governor said he wanted a Defense Secretary with a sharp blade and a killer instinct who isn’t wedded to the extant hierarchy.

Ron DeSantis said Thursday that the person he picks to run the Pentagon would have to be prepared to “slit some throats” and be “very firm, very strong” in imposing their will.

“I think the idea that you take a flag (officer) or general officer who recently retired and put them as the Secretary of Defense, I think it is a mistake,” DeSantis said, advocating for “professional distance from the General Officer Corps.”

“You know, they may have to slit some throats, and it’s a lot harder to do that if these are people that you’ve trained with in the past or that, you know, so we’re going to have somebody out there, you know, be very firm, very strong, but they are going to make sure that we have the best people in the best positions and there’s not going to be necessarily prior relationships that would cloud that judgment,” DeSantis contended.

DeSantis added that it’s “just human nature that these are people that you knew; you’re just going to treat them a little bit different.”

The Governor commented during an interview with John Solomon on “Just the News.” They continued on DeSantis’ rhetorical commitment to hiring an outsider to run the Department of Defense that he’s established previously in interviews.

“We want people who are going to be hard chargers. We want people who aren’t going to deal with the political nonsense. Our military should be unique in society. It should not be a reflection of values at places like Goldman Sachs or civilian bureaucracies,” DeSantis said during a Newsmax interview with Eric Bolling earlier this month.

DeSantis has rolled out a series of policy proposals to root the so-called “woke mind virus” out of the military. He has said he would target DEI, CRT, transgender troops, and drag queens and use the “bully pulpit” to promote military service.

It make’s perfect sense that Ron DeSantis would install an unqualified puppet as his defense secretary! Look at the incompetent Florida attorney general and the Florida lead on Healthcare!!!

If Ron is a good example of how Christians act, it’s little wonder they claim so much persecution throughout their religion’s relatively short history. Between being raging dick holes about “the others” and always coming for people’s children, proselytizing and/or molesting them, it’s a miracle there’s any Christians remaining that haven’t been beheaded or whatever would be appropriate for these types.

He’s right about the value of separation, but when you look at the type of folk he appoints, qualifications are the last thing on his list.
Richard Corcoran comes to mind. Randy Fine, waiting for FAU, Fred Hawkins. Cord Byrd’s wife.

yes he doesnt want them political…as long as they are his kind of fascist political…this guy…in my humble opinion…had he rolled out these ridiculous harmful laws he has imposed on Floridians in his first term..would not have been re-elected for a second term…and we certainly do not want his “brand” running the entire country

Sure. All he has appointed in Florida are people who have paid him to get the job or appointment. He has been paid off by many

He is a class A grifter. Watch him after he is out of office to see where the really dirty deals were made.

This is where we seperate Trumps talk from Desantis walk. Remember how your conservative just pittered and pattered in the footage of the Trump rallys leading up to 2016 at the verbal rallying of the croud to “Drain The Swamp and Lock Her Up? Sure you remember.
What did Trump deliver? Not Jack $HlT. Period.
    All talk no walk.

Now with Desantis hes not just telling you what Desantis will do hes telling you exactly how hes going to do it.
So where do we go from here? Recycle all talk/no walk/2020 looser Trump?
Or vote in all business, telling exactly how hes going to do it, most feared by the left Desantis?
Follow the Raif Daddy with your Desantis vote.
You wont regert it. Raif Daddy

My vote is going to the guy that curbed inflation and started the country on the road to recovery from 4 years of reality show nonsense, thank you. Rhonda can go grift in the private sector or with the other leeches on K-Street and stay the hell away from any seat of power.

“It’s a lot harder to do that if” you’re NEVER president because you self-sabotage on a daily basis. Please keep introducing yourself and telling folks who you are and what you want to do, Rhonda. Please keep it up so you keep going down down down like ELO.

  • Advice to Rhonda

My advice to Rhonda on the topic of throat slitting is the exact same advice I give to prospective shooters: If you decide to go for it, start with yourself.

Ron DeSantis may have to “slit some throats?” Wow that is really tough talk. He must be a tough guy, not a pansy like some people are saying. I bet he drives a Dodge Ram XXL, not no electric Ram. I might even vote for Ron now that I know how tough he really is. But only if Trump is out of commission, meaning deceased, and only if Ron promises never again to wear those white boots.

DeSantis is a Republican snowflake who can’t take the LEAST bit of heat of any type. You realky think that’s “tough”?

No, that was some rope-a-dope Rhonda mockery designed to lure in Rhonda fans but then smack them in the face.

Guess I went on too long with the mock flattery, which of course is the only flattery Rhonda ever gets, before the smack.

        Sorry ’bout that!

DeSantis is of the opinion that the military should NOT be under the control of civilian government. His views on that and related matters – as well as Trump’s – are about as anti-American fascist as you can get.

When the top military officeŕs are told that they will be purged mercilessly if DeSScumtis gets in, do you think an unprecedented thought of two might cross their minds?
Not violent, but in formerly avoided territory.

“We have no idea how, but Putin poisoned President Rhonda” shall be their story after Trump dies of a coronary and VP Rhonda gets auto-promoted by Donald J Trump, again. VP R

Trump VP Rhonda being auto-promoted to Prez Rhonda will be the biggest laughingstock on Earth, ever, in all of history, never a laughingstock like Rhonda before.

“Wouldn’t have been FL Gov w/o Trump. Wouldn’t have been VP without Trump. Probably slit Trump’s throat in their sleep. Wouldn’t be President w/o Trump,” and then very shorty (so shortly) thereafter, “Putin somehow poisoned Rhonda. NO idea how.”

Who is it again that’s 3rd in line? Speaker of the House? If Trump wins and this day befalls us, that had better not be Kevin McCarthy.

President Hakeem Jeffries sounds really nice. Possible silver lining to a Trump/Rhonda ticket and a win, but just like back at Harvard and Yale, Rhonda’s team tends to lose badly.

I assume many are aware that this plan is essentially the one Stalin followed. Purge the upper officer corps and replace them with total loyalists from below.

You are sharp with the hot takes. This is exactly the model he is trying to follow. He seems to have gotten all the wrong ideas from that history degree. Maybe should have paid more attention in class and less time daydreaming about being a dictator.

      July 28, 2023 at 7:14 am

And therein lies the problem. He makes trump look like a decent option when, in fact, he’s an incompetent moron. We need them both to go away and put an end to this maga nonsense. There has to be a sensible candidate out there who is interested in actual governing and making people’s lives better … sorry, I was dreaming there for a moment.

There absolutely is a candidate like that. He just has a different letter in the parentheses (D) than those two. No biggie.
